Morzine wedding videographer
As a destination wedding videographer, the French Alps are an absolute must. If you like epic landscapes, snow and après-ski, then Morzine Avoriaz is the place to go. Hugo and Rachael decided to elope at sunrise on a mountain with just myself, Ben (HBA photography) and their celebrant Ursula . It truly was one of the most spectacular weddings I have ever witnessed and none of it would have been possible without the team at Mountain Weddings.
We all snow-shoed up the mountain at 6am to the wonderful ceremony location, which had been immaculately put together by Justine (Nebbia Studio) the florist.
After the ceremony was over there was only one thing left to do…ski back down and then head to some more slopes for a portrait session.
Frozen Lake Ceremony at Lac de Montriond in the Chablais Alps
We started the day at one of the incredible Hunter Chalets, The Old Macaroni in Morzine. The order of the day was hair and make up, followed by a portrait shoot in the Chalet. The views are absolutely stunning and the interior is impeccable. We totally made use of the cinema room for some super intimate shots using the cinema seats.
It was now onto the main event, the ceremony by the frozen lake at Lac de Montriond. Picture a lake surrounded by snow covered trees and mountains. This has to be one of the most beautiful locations I have ever shot a wedding ceremony at. It was super intimate with only our couple (Kortni and Blake) and their celebrant (Ursula). We had confetti, we had champagne and you know I had to shoot that in super slow motion.
Alpine portrait session
As a skiing wedding videographer, I am able to offer portrait sessions pretty much anywhere on the slopes. I packed 2 lenses, 2 cameras and a gimbal into my backpack and headed up the mountain in Les Gets to film Emily and George. As we made the final ski lift up, we were literally the only group left on the mountain, this was perfect to shoot our couple with the uninterrupted drama of the alpine backdrops and slopes.
